The Customer

Greenlight Computers has a growing number of international clients from Europe and USA using Greenlight Computers for UK technical client visits rather than fly their staff in or recruit locally. Each client is being serviced under an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and cannot be named here.

The Challenge

The main blocker to expanding this service stream is visibility to potential clients as we cannot promote our relationships to other potential clients. With offices in North West and South East of England we are well placed to respond quickly, with strong technical skills and processes.

The Solution

Greenlight Computers has established itself with a number of international IT service organisations as their local “feet on the street” resources.
We have clients who are IT service organisations based in Europe and North America.
They have clients who have operational sites in various locations including the UK.
Our clients do not have IT resources based in the UK and have turned to Greenlight to provide engineers who can carry out site visits to their clients UK sites.
We support our clients by being able to carry out a range of activities.

Perhaps the most obvious are call-outs to carry out break fix activities on anything from a laptop to a network. We have purchased, set-up and installed onsite new hardware, relieving international clients of the problems, logistical and financial, of how to source in one country and deploy into another country.
Then there are projects, installation of switches, WAP’s, servers etc. We have also carried out site assessment and network infrastructure documentation projects to enable clients to then design the solution for whole network refresh projects.

At all times we go in as the client or their approved agent. Our engineers can go to our client’s clients either white labelled as the client, or as Greenlight Computers the authorised local service agent. We do not try to sell Greenlight Computers to the end client in the hope of winning their business.
We work to our international clients’ protocols, often engaging with their engineers in preparatory work to ensure we are following working practices of the client.

  • Timeliness of response – being in the same time zone as the end client means we can respond to incidents or service request in their time, which is not always the case of the service provider is in a different time zone.
  • The end client sees a friendly face in person rather than someone over a Teams or Zoom call.
  • Local sourcing of parts, which can be cheaper (avoids shipping and import costs) and can be localised (no having to change a laptop designed for North America to a UK format).
  • Flexibility. Sometimes just one engineer is required for a few hours, at other times it’s a team of engineers for a few days or weeks.
  • Familiarity. We train our engineers in how our client wants them to work. We get to know our clients’ standards, documentation and people so that if we need to ask questions to help and end user we know where to go for the right answer.
  • Life Science clients gain access to our GxP qualified technical staff.
  • Carbon footprint savings with reduced travel impact of international flights.
