Greenlight Computers Ltd has been an IT MSP (Managed Services Partner) to UK B2B trading companies and 3rd sector organisations since 2006.

Many of our clients have long standing relationships spanning back over a decade encompassing the journey from on premise computing to a largely cloud based IT as a service model today.

Our B2B clients are geographically dispersed and operate in numerous different sectors including professional services, manufacturing, logistics, recruitment and 3rd sector. The bulk of our clients are mid-size SME’s ranging from 10 to 250 employees often across multiple sites, where we have market leading expertise.

Regular review meetings with Director level input maintain positive open relationships with a more comprehensive annual review for all clients to validate the contract is still working for both parties. Greenlight HQ is within the University of Manchester campus and has developed excellent links with many other universities. We have also had the privilege of delivering IT services in partnership with university and faculty IT teams where additional capacity or skills are needed to supplement the internal teams. This background means we are regularly discussing projects under NDA restrictions. It may be that a new client is moving from in-house IT support to a Greenlight managed service contract and staff TUPE could be involved, we are very open to these discussions as the staff will bring valuable insight.

Cyber security requirements are similar across all sectors. Greenlight’s primary sector is Life Sciences, a sector renowned for some of the most demanding cyber security standards as they protect patient and intellectual property data.

Greenlight Computers recently commissioned a cyber security research project with the UK Cyber Foundry and four North West Universities (University of Manchester, MMU, University of Salford & Lancaster University). The study looked at best practice cyber security for the Life Science sector by taking the requirements of large pharma, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and leading cyber insurers and creating an ideal set of protections. The study then compared that ideal set to the cyber toolset deployed by Greenlight Computers and the leading cyber protection products on the market.

The outputs of this study were then consolidated into a comprehensive checklist uniquely available to Greenlight Computers and its clients. Each B2B client situation may be different, but the stringent demands for cyber security in Life Sciences are ideal for less demanding sectors.
