We have a great opportunity for a Business Development Manager

The Role

Join our entrepreneurial team and be responsible for generating early-stage income streams across a series of fledgling businesses.

The growth hungry business units looking for your skills include:

• A business community established in 2019 with an initial goal of securing 1,000 Northwest companies as members (currently 1,175). Now looking to monetise the investment.
• A digital marketing agency established in 2018 with exceptional expertise and testimonials now looking to grow its client base significantly.
• A new scientific business network scheduled to be launched in Q3 2022.
• A niche recruitment agency that is unexploited and offers interesting future potential.

Working with our clients you will develop an exceptional network and promote our services and solutions, breaking into new markets and making your mark.

The team is excited to welcome and support a dynamic new BDM and will provide exceptional support to help you succeed.

The scope of the role includes:

• Building and delivering promotional campaigns for each of the business units
• Opening up new revenue streams
• Identifying areas of added value to exploit
• Communicating back into the team proactively about business development progress and future requirements
• Building business units to a point of commercial sustainability

The successful candidate will have experience of:

• Building commercial relationships
• Developing and delivering sales campaigns
• The use of digital marketing services to your advantage
• Working within a start-up environment
• Building mutually beneficial partnerships with channel partners or associated service providers
• Developing unique products with the potential for repeatable sales
• Demonstratable over achievement on business development targets

Key personal requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years prior experience of working in a business development role
• Degree level qualified
• Exceptional written, verbal and social media communication skills (this will be tested in the interview process)
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Enthusiasm and excited by change and variety
• Clean and professional image – we must not only perform professionally but also be professional in attitude, appearance and the way we act, in order to stand above the competition. Smart dress standard is essential, clean personal hygiene and appearance.
• Demonstrates experience in creation and maintenance of marketing collateral.
• Owns a problem, recognises that customer satisfaction is key to business growth.
• Passionate about operating with an environmentally conscious mindset.

Working Hours

• Full Time 37.5 hours per week.

Candidates should have access to their own car and have a current valid driving license for customer site visits.

The role is based in Manchester, and we will require you to be within a reasonable commute of Manchester.
