Cake Solutions – Grade 2 Listed Office – Cabling & Networking

Cabling a grade 2 listed office | Greenlight Computers

Office move into a Grade 2 listed building required cable re-termination, labelling & testing to the highest cosmetic standard. Project completed on time & on budget.

Client Name: Cake Solutions

Cake Solutions Ltd planned to move offices within Houldsworth Mill. In their planned new office space data ports were available throughout however the previous tenant had cut all network cables at the comms room, rather than simply removing the patch panels from their data cabinet. This left between 80 and 100 un-labeled and un-terminated cables, cut short and left free in that room. The task was to trace, identify, relabel and reconnect to enable Cake to move into the new office space. Additional cabling runs also needed to be installed together with new data sockets, backboxes, facia and trunking etc.

To identify and label each individual cable. Once identified, punch down all cables in sequence to new patch panels. Repair any connections found to be faulty at the current wall port/s. Install a single gang, twin port data socket in the staff rest room. Run new CAT 5e cables where required and terminate to the patch panel and to a new backbox/facia assembly. All cabling was completed without disturbing the fabric of the Grade 2 listed setting.

As always the Greenlight guys were easy to work with & completed a very clean job on time & budget. New office looks great.
