3rd Line Engineer – Manchester

We have a vacancy for a Line 3 Support Engineer. You will be technical competence and service desk management/supervisory experience is ideal but not essential.

You should be capable of delivering Line 3 support which can range from solution design through to implementation and ongoing service support.

The duties of this role encompass three areas:

  • Client support. You will have clients for whom you are the lead engineer. You will provide care and support for these key customers. You will ensure SLA’s are met, that customer satisfaction is achieved. You will ensure that all documentation is maintained to ITIL standards.
  • You will provide 3rd line technical support to your colleagues who will handle first & second line customer support activities. You will provide technical leadership, lead complex installation projects, assistance with solving difficult problems, assistance with sales and business development opportunities and work to ensure service level commitments are met at all times.
  • Sales and business development support. You will work with the sales team to develop responses to bids, design solutions and implement new service offerings.

Your experience will cover

  • Supporting companies with environments which can include Windows, Linux and MAC servers.
  • Supporting multiple companies across a range of industries and sectors.
  • Technical competence and experience includes the following at a Line 3 level:
    • Windows servers up to and including Windows Server 2012
    • MAC servers
    • MS Exchange
    • Networking (Firewalls, managed switches, routers)
    • VMWare
    • Citrix
    • Mac (including servers)
    • Active Directory
    • Office 365
